Environmental and Social Policy

Vongsayarm Korsang Company Limited (hereinafter referred to as "VSK" or "the Company"), provides a one-stop service on raw water pipeline management systems (e.g., processes of raw water pumping and pipeline system, water treatment system, water supply system maintenance and pipeline layout work). VSK is committed in managing the impacts on the environment and society, by taking into account relevant stakeholders applicable to the Project (e.g., government authorities, local community, business partners, non-governmental organization and employees). In addition, VSK commit to the implementation of Environmental and Social Safeguards in alignment with international standards.

The Company is committed to:

Environmental Safeguards

  • Conduct an environmental and social impact assessment to identify relative risks on the environment, ecosystem, bio9iversity, community, and vulnerable groups in close proximity of every project location.
  • Avoid negative impacts on biodiversity that might be caused from project operations as far as practically feasible. Including, the safeguards of indigenous people from harm and sustainably mitigate or manage any involuntary resettlement resulting from the Company's action.
  • Develop appropriate control measures for project development, construction and operational to control and mitigate the identified risks.
  • Utilize resource (e.g., energy and water) efficiently and promote recycling and reusing of materials.
  • Continuously promote awareness and training to enhance competency of personnel as the Company values personnel as a fundamental driving force in operating a project.
  • Immediately perform remediation actions and conduct root cause analysis in event of environmental release or emergencies, in order to prevent future occurrences.

Social Safeguards

  • Adhere to national labour regulations, applicable international regulations and and the Core Convention of the International Labour Organization (ILO Conventions).
  • Prohibit the use of forced and child labour in the Company's own operations and throughout the business value chain.
  • Creating a working environment free from discrimination and harassment. All employees and contractors shall be treated with dignity and respect in order to create a equitable, inclusive and sustainable society.
  • Established accessible channels for employees, contractors and community to raise issues and grievances which stakeholders may have.
  • Creating a safe workplace, job safety analysis, health and safety procedures and personal protective equipment shall be provided to employees to safeguard employees from occupational hazards.
  • Conduct culturally appropriate engagement to identify potential impacts on Indigenous People and vulnerable groups to create prevention and protective measures.
  • Sustainably management involuntary resettlement (if unavoidable), by developing appropriate measures to mitigate adverse impacts on the displaced person.

Ultimately, the Company is committed to monitor and improve Company's environmental and social performance to support the achievement of continuous improvement. This Policy is owned by VSK Top Management and applicable to all employees and contractors working on behalf of VSK. 

Further details of employees and contractors' rights and benefits shall be provided in the supporting Employee Handbook - available in the language understood by employees. All operations shall be in compliance with laws and regulations. Any conflicts between this Policy and local regulations shall be raised to Chief Executive Officer.
